Kanyakumari Wildlife Sanctuary

Apart from the town of Kanyakumari which is a popular tourist spot, the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, also has a wildlife sanctuary that some of the tourists like to visit on their tour to the place.

This wildlife sanctuary near Kanyakumari town, is spread over a 402.4 sq.km.area of land. The sanctuary is well known as a tiger habitat, and has a rich variety of flora and fauna.

Some of the reptiles and animals that you can see in this wildlife sanctuary are tigers, elephants, rock pythons, Indian bison, mouse deer, sambar & nilgiri deers, and the lion-tailed macaque monkeys.

  1. A protected forest, this sanctuary is a natural habitat of tigers. If the orange and black stripes is not enough, then the list of other species like sambar deer, Indian Rock Python, Indian Bison etc, most of which are threatened species, will make you a wildlife enthusiast.There are other cool places to visit in Kanyakumari as well.
